Woody Talks: Friends, Fenders, and Autumn Trails

Howdy, everyone—it’s me again, Woody, your trusty 1931 Model A Station Wagon from Oaklea Mansion! 🚗🍂

This Autumn Trails was one for the books. Not only did I get to cruise through the countryside, honking my brand-new horn and showing off my shine, but I also got to share my home—Oaklea Mansion—with some of my Model A friends!

That’s right—several fine Fords rolled in for the weekend. There were coupes, roadsters, sedans, and even a few with fancier paint jobs than mine (though I like to think I still have the most charm). The best part? We all got to rest our tires right here at Oaklea Mansion.

Imagine the mansion’s driveway lined with vintage beauty—chrome shining in the morning sun, the faint scent of oil and adventure in the air, and laughter from all the Model A drivers swapping stories about their travels. It felt like the good ol’ days all over again.

And get this—one of the guests was a Model A mechanic! Talk about lucky! Having a real expert around made me feel like a celebrity in the shop. He knew just how to tweak, tighten, and tune, giving me and my friends a little extra pep before we hit the road again.

It was a weekend full of history, friendship, and a whole lot of ahoogas. From the mansion’s porch lights to the parade streets of Winnsboro, we all had a time to remember.

As the engines cooled and the sun set over Oaklea, I couldn’t help but feel grateful. It’s not every day an old Model A like me gets to spend time with so many familiar faces—both people and cars alike.

Here’s to good company, great mechanics, and another unforgettable Autumn Trails. Until next time, friends…

Ahooga!—Woody 🚗🍁

Was great to get to meet you in Winnsboro, touring with you, and finding your blog. When you head west to the Dallas area let us know and we can ride again.
