Autumn Trails Car Parade: A Day Full of Fun and Four Wheels of History

There’s something magical about waking up on a crisp October morning in Winnsboro, Texas. This years Autumn Trails Car Parade has rolled through town once again — and this year, Oaklea Mansion's "Woody" the Model A Station Wagon was right in the thick of it!

From early morning to afternoon, Main Street was buzzing. Antique cars shined as the rain clouds parted, each one a piece of rolling history. Families lined the sidewalks with coffee cups in hand, waving and cheering as we cruised by. And there I was — Woody — polished, proud, and rumbling along with my fellow vintage beauties, soaking in every bit of the excitement.

But the fun didn’t stop with the cars. Oh no, Autumn Trails weekend is a full-blown celebration of community and small-town charm.

On the streets downtown was the Arts & Crafts Show, where you could find every type of hand crafted goody. Over at Fashion Through the Eras, Vanora Studio showcased stunning vintage styles — from flapper dresses to 1950s glamour — reminding everyone that fashion, like a classic car, only gets better with time. Across the railroad tracks, the Lone Star Pepper Palooza, was beginning, where brave souls tested their taste buds and cheered each other on through every fiery bite. Over at Fashion Through the Eras, Vanora Studio showcased stunning vintage styles — from flapper dresses to 1950s glamour — reminding everyone that fashion, like a classic car, only gets better with time. And the Autumn Trail Model A's Swap Meet event was still going on at city park where you could find all kinds of treasures. And you couldn’t forget the Pet Contest! Pups of all shapes and sizes strutted their stuff in costumes, wagging tails in every direction. It was impossible not to smile your way across the town with all the excitement!

Every corner of Winnsboro was alive — the Farmers Market, the Historical Museum, Oaklea Mansion hosting tours, and the streets echoing with laughter, camera clicks, and the low hum of engines.

For Woody, it was a proud day. To roll down Main Street among so many stories — past and present — this is what being part of Autumn Trails is all about. It’s a reminder that history isn’t just something you read about; it’s something you live, together. Antique Model As and classic beauties all lined up in downtown Winnsboro, Texas.
